Dashboards

The dashboard is the first screen you see after logging in. It summarises how the business is doing today, this week and this month — what to look at depends on your role.

What the dashboard shows

Every dashboard answers three questions:

  • How much money is coming in? Sales totals, paid vs. unpaid amounts.
  • How much is going out? Expenses, payroll, supplier payments.
  • Where is the business heading? Trends across days, weeks and months.

The exact cards and charts you see depend on your role. The app shows each user only what they're allowed to see.

Owner dashboard

Owners get the widest view — everything across every branch.

Owner dashboard showing today's sales, expenses, net, and a monthly revenue chart
The Owner dashboard — daily totals, revenue chart, top sellers and branch comparison.

Top cards (today)

  • Sales today — total value of all sales recorded today, all branches combined.
  • Expenses today — total expenses logged today.
  • Net (today) — sales minus expenses for the day.
  • Outstanding debt — how much customers still owe you.

This month at a glance

  • Revenue chart — daily sales for the month, so you can spot good and bad days.
  • Top-selling products — your five best sellers this month.
  • Expense breakdown — pie chart of where the money went (rent, salaries, supplies, etc.).
  • Branch performance — table comparing each branch's revenue and net.
Reading tip A green arrow means "up vs. last period." A red arrow means "down." Click any card to drill into the underlying transactions.

Manager dashboard

Managers see the same shape of dashboard as owners, but scoped to their branch only.

Manager view — same layout as the Owner, but only the manager's branch.
  • Sales, expenses and net are for the manager's branch.
  • Top-selling products and expense breakdown are calculated from the branch's transactions.
  • Payroll figures cover only employees attached to that branch.

Managers cannot see other branches or the platform-wide totals.

Employee dashboard

Employees (cashiers, attendants) see a focused, action-oriented dashboard:

Employee dashboard with my-sales summary and quick action buttons
Employee view — personal totals plus quick actions for new sale, expense and POS.
  • My sales today — total value of sales the employee personally recorded today.
  • My services today — service jobs they completed.
  • Quick actions — buttons to record a new sale, log an expense or open the POS.
  • Recent activity — last few transactions they entered, in case they need to correct one.

Employees do not see profit, payroll, expenses by other staff, or branch totals.

Platform admin dashboard

Only NIWAJ TECH staff have access to this view. It shows platform-wide metrics: total registered businesses, active subscriptions, monthly recurring revenue and recent payments. Regular users will never see it.

Filtering by date and branch

You can change the time window and the branch using the filters at the top of the dashboard.

  1. Click the date selector in the top right of the dashboard.
  2. Choose Today, This week, This month, This year, or Custom.
  3. If you picked Custom, choose a start date and an end date.
  4. To switch branches (Owners only), use the branch selector next to the business name in the top bar.

The dashboard refreshes immediately whenever you change a filter.

When numbers update

Dashboard figures are calculated live from your transactions. There's no nightly batch — every sale, expense or payment shows up within a few seconds of being recorded.

Numbers look wrong? Check (1) the date filter at the top, (2) the active branch in the top bar, and (3) refresh the page. If the figure is still off, see Troubleshooting → Wrong totals.
